Diamond 17U are Champions of the Perfect Game Knoxville Invitational. The squad beat Wow Factor Scout team 14-2 in the final. Diamond went on a run to beat TN Nationals and Wow Factor Midsouth Colts to lead up to the championship game. A total of 24 teams participated in the tournament.
Diamond 17U won in convincing fashion, with 14 team hits. Mark Underwood (Farragut) was named MVP with 3-3 and 2 RBI. Miller Spence (Knox Catholic) was 2-2 and Turner Stout (Dobyns-Bennett) was 2-3. Luke Seagrist (Bearden), William Webb (Hardin Valley), Underwood, Spence and Stout all contributed doubles in the contest. Stout gets the win, allowing only 2 runs.
In the semifinals, Diamond topped Wow Factor Midsouth Colts with a final of 4-2. Brady Frederick (Bearden) and Luke Seagrist led Diamond bats with 2 hits each. Andrew Henry (Alcoa) was credited with the win.
